Job Title: Legal Counsel Position
We are seeking a seasoned legal professional to join our Singapore team. This role will provide strategic guidance and support across various corporate, commercial, regulatory, and operational matters.
The ideal candidate will have a strong emphasis on managing legal risks inherent in large-scale industries, with prior exposure to hyperscale data centers or related sectors such as energy, infrastructure, or real estate being highly advantageous.
This position requires close collaboration with senior management, business leaders, and external stakeholders to ensure compliance, manage risks, and drive sustainable business growth.
About the Role:
  • Contract Management : Draft, review, and negotiate complex agreements including construction, procurement, leasing, vendor, supply chain, and service contracts.
  • Regulatory & Compliance : Advise on local and regional requirements, data protection, environmental, and safety regulations impacting large-scale infrastructure and data centers.
  • Corporate Governance : Provide legal support on secretarial matters, board governance, shareholder resolutions, and compliance with Singapore Companies Act.
  • M&A & Joint Ventures : Support on transactions including acquisitions, divestments, joint ventures, and strategic partnerships involving asset-heavy operations.
  • Dispute Resolution : Manage disputes, litigation, arbitration, and liaise with external counsel when required.
  • Risk Management : Proactively identify legal risks in infrastructure projects, cross-border transactions, financing structures, and advise on mitigation strategies.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration : Partner with project, finance, operations, and engineering teams to ensure alignment of legal requirements with business objectives.
Key Qualifications:
  • A recognized university LL.B / J.D. degree; admission to practice law in Singapore or another common law jurisdiction.
  • A minimum of 10 years post-qualification experience, with at least 5 years in-house in an asset-heavy industry (infrastructure, utilities, construction, energy, or data centers).
  • Proven experience in Hyperscale Data Centers or large-scale technology infrastructure highly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of contract law, corporate law, regulatory compliance, and project finance.
  • Excellent negotiation and drafting skills with the ability to handle complex, high-value agreements.
  • Strong business acumen, able to balance legal risks with commercial objectives.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and engage with senior stakeholders.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; collaborative team player.
