Strategic Trader - Rates and Derivatives

The Macro Rates team is seeking a skilled Proprietary Trader to drive trading strategies in rates and bond futures across key Asia-Pacific markets.

  • Develop and execute proprietary trading strategies in Japan, Korea, and Australia interest rate markets, including bond futures, interest rate swaps, and options.
  • Conduct detailed macroeconomic analysis to identify trading opportunities in Asia-Pacific rates markets.
  • Manage a trading book with disciplined risk oversight, ensuring consistent P&L generation.
  • Monitor market movements and adjust trading strategies in response to BOJ, BOK, and RBA policy decisions.
  • Collaborate closely with research and other traders to refine trading approaches.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of proprietary trading experience in Japan, Korea, or Australia interest rate markets.
  • Proven track record in rates and derivatives trading with consistent risk-adjusted returns.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills; degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, or related field.
  • Proficiency with trading platforms and financial software.
  • Strategic thinker with ability to interpret complex macroeconomic data.
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Business-level English required.

Maintain deep knowledge of interest rate derivatives, bond futures, and associated liquidity dynamics in Japan, Korea, and Australia. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.
