Desktop Support Engineer Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Desktop Support Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our IT department, you will provide top-notch technical support to end-users, ensuring their desktop systems and hardware are running smoothly.
The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills in troubleshooting hardware and software issues on various platforms, including Windows and Mac. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are also essential for interacting with end-users and collaborating with IT teams. You should be able to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple tasks and prioritizing effectively.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
  • Troubleshooting Hardware and Software Issues: Diagnose and resolve complex problems with desktop systems, printers, PDAs, Blackberries, and LAN cable drops.
  • Software Installation and Configuration: Install, configure, and maintain software applications on desktops and laptops.
  • System Backups and Restores: Perform regular system backups and restores to ensure data integrity and availability.
  • IMACD Functionality: Handle installation and decommissioning of desktop systems and peripherals.
  • Service Desk and Remote Desktop Support: Assist ServiceDesk/Remote Desktop Support teams with hands-on coordination efforts.
  • Categorize and Prioritize End-User Support Requests: Utilize ticketing systems to track tickets, provide up-to-date status, and information.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Technical Skills: Strong technical skills in troubleshooting hardware and software issues on various platforms.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with end-users and collaborating with IT teams.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve complex issues.
  • Knowledge of ITIL Framework: Knowledge of ITIL framework and best practices is highly preferred.
