Interior Designer Job Description

We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Interior Designer to join our organization. In this role, you will be responsible for conceptualizing and executing interior design projects from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Meet with clients to understand their needs, style preferences, and project requirements
  • Develop design concepts, mood boards, space plans, and presentations
  • Select materials, finishes, furniture, lighting, and accessories
  • Create detailed drawings, 3D renderings, and specifications using design software (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, Adobe Creative Suite)
  • Coordinate with contractors, architects, and suppliers to ensure design intent is met
  • Manage project timelines, deliverables, and stakeholder expectations
  • Conduct site visits and supervise installation and styling
  • Stay current with industry trends, materials, and regulations

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field
  • Proven experience as an Interior Designer or similar role
  • Strong portfolio showcasing a range of design styles and project types
  • Proficiency in design software (AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, Adobe Creative Suite)
  • Knowledge of building codes, standards, and accessibility requirements
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and project management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail and a creative mindset

Preferred Skills

The following skills would be beneficial:

  • Experience in residential / commercial / office design (specify based on your focus)
  • Knowledge of sustainable and eco-friendly design practices
  • Familiarity with FF&E (Furniture, Fixtures & Equipment) sourcing and procurement
