Job Title: Enterprise Risk Strategist

Job Description

The Senior Risk Specialist will play a pivotal role in leading the risk management function across various departments. This individual will oversee risk monitoring, implement timely mitigation actions to minimize exposure, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards and industry best practices.

This senior leadership position requires extensive experience in securities and derivatives risk management, preferably within a brokerage firm. The ideal candidate will possess strong proficiency in margin financing and derivatives products, including futures contracts, stocks & index options, and options on futures.

A key aspect of this role is reviewing and enhancing risk management policies, frameworks, and system workflows to embed risk considerations into strategic and operational decision-making processes.

The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing and approving credit applications for retail, high-net-worth, and institutional clients, ensuring consistency with internal risk appetite and credit policies.

In addition, the Risk Management Lead will evaluate core business processes to identify potential risk exposures and recommend robust control measures.

The role involves conducting comprehensive risk assessments and due diligence on new product launches and business initiatives, working closely with development teams to automate risk controls through system integration.

Liaising with auditors and responding to inquiries from external regulatory authorities is also a critical responsibility.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Risk Management, Finance, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
  • Over 10 years of experience in securities and derivatives risk management, preferably within a brokerage firm.
  • Strong proficiency in margin financing and derivatives products, including futures contracts, stocks & index options, and options on futures.
  • Comprehensive understanding of MAS and SGX regulatory requirements.
  • Familiarity with international markets such as the United States, Japan, Hong Kong, and China Connect is a plus.
