Low Carbon Solutions Specialist Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled professional to join our team as a Low Carbon Solutions Specialist. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in driving our energy transition efforts and identifying opportunities for growth in low carbon solutions.

Your primary responsibility will be to identify potentially attractive business opportunities across multiple products and value chains, including Carbon Capture and Storage, Hydrogen, Ammonia, and Biofuels. You will develop and execute commercial strategies for opportunity capture, leading selected opportunities from inception through to investment decision.

You will understand, construct, and negotiate agreements for the commercialization of new opportunities in low carbon solutions, serving as an internal interface for commercialization to ensure alignment and obtain endorsements as necessary. Additionally, you will leverage policy and technologies to converge on attractive business cases, integrating commercial, regulatory, and technical attributes while progressing opportunities.

As a Low Carbon Solutions Specialist, you will represent ExxonMobil's low carbon solutions in trade associations, government engagements, and partnering with other functional departments for attendance and participation at conferences and trade fairs. You will provide competitive market insights to support market strategies and analysis.

About You
  • A Bachelor's degree in science, engineering, or business disciplines is required.
  • Strong candidates with up to 10 years of relevant experience working in business development, including commercial negotiations, are preferred. Experience in identifying commercial opportunities across value chains (low carbon value chains) is also desirable.
  • Oil and gas or low carbon/energy transition experience is preferred.
  • International experience and experience with JV's and other partner frameworks are preferred.
  • Strong communication, coordination, networking, and collaboration skills are essential.
  • Ability to effectively influence others without authority is crucial.
  • Broad business acumen, ability to deal with ambiguity, and exceptional problem-solving skills are required.
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with external counterparts is essential.
  • Strong courage of conviction, bias to action, strategic agility, and clear communication skills are required.
