Low Carbon Transition Specialist

Our team leads the transition to a low-carbon economy in Singapore, developing initiatives to reduce emissions and drive green growth. Officers working with us are tasked to develop carbon markets, plan energy infrastructure, strategise low-carbon energy sources, and manage mission trajectories and carbon budgets.
You will collaborate with various stakeholders to support sustainable economic transformation and international trade partnerships. Our dynamic team is responsible for formulating Singapore's carbon mitigation strategies and policies, with a focus on carbon capture and storage.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing a viable commercial model for carbon capture and storage;
- Creating economic regulations and masterplans for CCS;
- Establishing new incentive models to support CCS;
- Representing government interests in Public-Private Partnership contracts;
- Staying up-to-date on new technologies for CCS and carbon capture, utilisation and storage;
We are looking for driven, capable and committed officers who possess a strong desire to contribute to Singapore's carbon transition. They should thrive in a fast-paced environment, be adept at working with multiple stakeholders and across organisational boundaries, and have the following qualities and competencies:
- Experience in policy review, formulation and implementation;
- 0 to 9 years of relevant experience in policy, international affairs, commercial experience or has engineering background;
- Ability to understand and navigate complexities of politics in regional countries;
- Strong critical thinking, writing and communication skills;
- Experience in stakeholder engagement and effective persuasion and influencing skills;
- Strong interpersonal skills, with ability to work well both independently and in a team;
- Strong ability to learn on the fly;
- Be driven, meticulous and resourceful;
- Willingness to travel up to 10% of the calendar year.
