Director of Low-Carbon Economy Transformation

This role is part of the ministry's efforts to drive Singapore's transition to a low-carbon economy. Climate change presents unique challenges for a small, open economy like Singapore.
The resource and planning team works on cross-cutting policies that affect carbon, energy, and economic transitions impacting the industrial and energy sectors.
- We aim to reduce emissions and drive the transition to a low-carbon economy by formulating policies that enable Singapore to contribute to global climate change mitigation while sustainably growing our economy.
You will work on initiatives to reduce emissions and drive the transition to a low-carbon economy. This includes:
- Formulating policies to spur industry and power sector decarbonisation, including implementing the carbon tax act and related allowances that support sustainable industrial growth.
- Collaborating with government agencies to unlock cost-effective greenhouse gas mitigation measures to meet rising climate ambition while managing impact to businesses.
- Coordinating and formulating overall R&D efforts related to industry decarbonisation and the energy transition.
We are looking for driven individuals with a strong desire to contribute to Singapore's energy and carbon transition, an interest in energy and carbon markets and policies, the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, and the capability to work with multiple stakeholders inside and outside the public sector.
