Job Title: Sommelier

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sommelier to join our team at OUE Restaurants PTE. LTD. as we launch an exciting new nightlife and culinary destination in the heart of Singapore.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work with the Head Sommelier to maintain the wine list and ensure it meets the highest standards of quality and variety.
  • Recommend wine pairings to guests based on their budget, personal preferences, and food choices.
  • Manage inventory and storage of wines to ensure optimal conditions and minimize waste.
  • Provide technical expertise in the serving of wine, including temperature, glassware, and service sequence.
  • Train and supervise team members to ensure excellent wine service standards.
  • Collaborate with suppliers, winemakers, and brand representatives to organize trade tastings, wine dinners, and other events.
  • Work with the Head Sommelier to select and negotiate wine partnerships to achieve better prices.
  • Maintain overall beverage cost at 27% and control operating expenses.
  • Conduct staff performance appraisals to improve productivity, service, and knowledge.
  • Purchase and manage inventory of operating equipment to maintain a fully stocked restaurant.
  • Ensure excellent levels of internal and external customer service.
Requirements:
  • WSET Level 3 certification.
  • CMS Level 2 - Certified Sommelier certification.
  • CSW Certified.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of food, beverage, and restaurant operations.
  • Proven management experience and customer service skills.
  • Knowledge of relevant computer applications and accounting principles.
  • Organizational and team management skills with a strong customer service approach.
  • Tertiary qualification preferred, but not required.
