Job Title: Sommelier

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and knowledgeable Sommelier to join our team at Marina Bay Sands. As a Sommelier, you will be responsible for providing exceptional wine service to our guests, ensuring that they have a memorable and enjoyable dining experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive knowledge of wines, including their origins, characteristics, and pairing options.
  • Provide expert wine recommendations to guests, taking into account their preferences and dietary requirements.
  • Ensure that wine lists are up-to-date and accurately reflect the current selection of wines available.
  • Collaborate with the management team to identify opportunities to increase wine sales and improve the overall wine service experience.
  • Maintain a high level of knowledge of wine-related equipment and glassware, ensuring that they are properly cleaned and maintained.
  • Assist in the management of the front-of-house team, providing guidance and support to ensure that wine service standards are consistently met.
  • Conduct regular wine tastings and training sessions to educate staff on wine knowledge and service standards.
  • Monitor and maintain accurate records of wine sales, inventory, and stock levels.
  • Comply with all health and safety regulations and procedures.

Requirements:
  • Minimum 3-5 years' experience in the wine trade, with a strong background in wine service and knowledge.
  • WSET or CMS certification is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with guests and colleagues.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
