Job Title: Sommelier - Paiza Club

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and knowledgeable Sommelier to join our team at Marina Bay Sands. As a Sommelier, you will be responsible for providing exceptional wine service to our guests, maintaining a high level of knowledge of wines, and ensuring that our wine list is up-to-date and accurately represented.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of wine, including wine regions, grape varieties, and wine-making techniques.
  • Provide expert wine recommendations to guests, taking into account their preferences and dietary restrictions.
  • Maintain a well-organized and structured wine cellar, ensuring that wines are stored and served at the optimal temperature and humidity levels.
  • Regularly update and maintain our wine list, ensuring that it accurately reflects our current wine offerings and is presented in a clear and concise manner.
  • Communicate effectively with the management team to identify opportunities for wine sales and promotions.
  • Ensure that all wine-related equipment and glassware are properly maintained and cleaned.
  • Assist in the management of the front-of-house and wine team to ensure the smooth running of the restaurant.
  • Maximize sales opportunities through wine sales and promotions.
  • Regularly educate staff on wine knowledge, specifically pertaining to our wine program.
  • Conduct monthly inventory of wine and related beverages.
Requirements:
  • Extensive knowledge of wine and wine service, encompassing alcoholic and non-alcoholic items.
  • Minimum 3-5 years' experience in the wine trade and a passion for wine service.
  • WSET or CMS certification would be an advantage.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work on shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
