Job Title: Sommelier - Paiza Club

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and knowledgeable Sommelier to join our team at Marina Bay Sands. As a Sommelier, you will be responsible for providing exceptional wine service to our guests, maintaining a high level of knowledge of wines, and ensuring that our wine list is up-to-date and accurately represented.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of wine, including wine regions, grape varieties, and wine-making techniques.
  • Provide expert wine recommendations to guests, taking into account their preferences and dietary restrictions.
  • Maintain a high level of knowledge of wine service, including wine and food pairing, wine service techniques, and wine etiquette.
  • Ensure that the wine list is up-to-date and accurately represented, including regular inventory management and wine list updates.
  • Collaborate with the management team to identify opportunities for wine sales and promotions.
  • Develop and implement wine education programs for staff, including wine tastings and wine service training.
  • Ensure that all wine-related equipment and glassware are properly maintained and cleaned.
  • Monitor and maintain wine par levels, ensuring that the restaurant has an adequate supply of wine at all times.
  • Assist in the management of the front of house and wine team, ensuring the smooth running of the restaurant.
Requirements:
  • Extensive knowledge of wine, including wine regions, grape varieties, and wine-making techniques.
  • Minimum 3-5 years' experience in the wine trade, with a passion for wine service.
  • WSET or CMS certification would be an advantage.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work on shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
