About the Role

Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance is seeking an experienced claims professional to join our team as a Senior Marine Claims Examiner. This is an exciting opportunity to join our fast-growing and dynamic Asia Middle East team, focused on providing a first-class claims service to our customers and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Proactively manage and resolve marine claims originating from BHSI offices across the Asia Middle East region.
  • Guide, mentor, and supervise other team members in the region, engage with customers, and work with underwriting teams and other stakeholders in the development of business opportunities.
  • Develop and implement key initiatives that promote the claims product and enhance our commercial advantage.
  • Represent BHSI in interactions with customers, promoting the BHSI claims proposition and philosophy.
Requirements
  • Strong technical knowledge of marine insurance, with a focus on cargo, freight forwarders liability, and ports and terminals liability insurance.
  • Excellent organizational, quantitative, and analytical skills, with the ability to develop strong relationships with customers and team members.
  • Ability to identify opportunities to improve the efficiency of our claims operations in the region, while maintaining a global outlook.
  • Effective leadership and communication skills, with the ability to develop and implement key initiatives.
