Job Description

We are seeking a highly passionate and experienced Design Director to lead our team.

This is a rare opportunity for a passionate leader to shape the design direction of a regional brand, drive innovation, and mentor a high-performing team.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Lead and define strategic leadership and creative direction for all interior design projects.
  • Review and approve all design proposals, ensuring alignment with brand identity and client objectives.
  • Champion innovation in planning and development and experiential design to enhance functionality and user engagement.
Leadership & Strategy
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, technical teams, and external consultants to ensure designs are feasible and cost-effective.
  • Oversee project timelines, budgets, and resource planning or allocation to ensure efficient execution and successful delivery.
  • Represent the design function in high-level client meetings, presentations, and project reviews.
Team Management
  • Lead, mentor, and manage the design team, providing regular feedback, training and development opportunities.
  • Delegate tasks effectively and promote a collaborative, creative, and productive studio environment.
Client Relationship Management
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships by acting as a trusted design advisor.
  • Deliver high-impact presentations of concepts and strategies with confidence and clarity.
  • Conduct in-depth consultations to truly understand client requirements.
Business Development
  • Contribute to business development efforts by supporting the preparation of design proposals and client pitches.
  • Stay abreast of global design trends, emerging technologies, and sustainable design practices.
  • Continuously evaluate and enhance design workflows and processes.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in relevant fields such as Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
Minimum 15 years of relevant interior design experience with a strong focus on leadership and strategy including at least 5 years in a leadership role.
Strong portfolio showcasing a diverse range of design projects.
Proficiency in design software (AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.).
Excellent communication, stakeholder management and leadership skills.
Strong understanding of compliance, sustainability, and regional building regulations.
Experience managing budgets and procurement at a strategic level.
