We are looking for a Senior Energy Policy Analyst to join our team in Singapore.

This is a role with a specific focus on shaping new policies in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region, utilizing your expertise in energy systems, alternative fuel production, and/or biofuel supply chains.

The position requires a person with strong analytical skills, an ability to quickly grasp technical issues, assess data, and good knowledge of Excel or other modeling tools.

Relevant professional experience working on technical issues in the environmental or energy sectors, or in a research institution, is highly recommended.

You will work closely with stakeholders in APAC countries, analyzing and dissecting data as well as complex policy issues from various sources.

Analyzing these issues from an environmental, economic, and societal perspective, you will develop briefings and input into advocacy and campaign materials based on robust data, evidence, and argumentation.

These materials will be used to reduce the climate impact of the transport sector, and to advocate our position to policymakers at national and regional levels.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing detailed understanding of issues related to biomass, biofuels, and renewable fuels of non-biological origin
  • Converting large datasets into clear, robust, and beautiful charts
  • Acting as one of our key energy experts, analyzing data and complex policy issues, and developing advocacy materials

The successful candidate should meet all of the following criteria:

  • Proven expertise in and knowledge of the energy system, alternative fuel production, and/or biofuel supply chains
  • Strong analytical skills, an ability to quickly grasp technical issues, assess data, and good knowledge of Excel or other modeling tools
  • Relevant professional experience working on technical issues in the environmental or energy sectors, or in a research institution

Candidates should have excellent communication and presentation skills, an ability to write fluently, accurately, and concisely in English, and strong interpersonal and team-working skills.

The ideal candidate will be able to think and act with initiative, engage and influence policymakers, industry representatives, and other stakeholders at the highest level.
