Senior Energy Policy Analyst

We are seeking a Senior Energy Data Specialist to join our team in Singapore. This is a unique opportunity to shape new policies in the Asia-Pacific region and make a significant impact on transport energy.
The successful candidate will have strong analytical, coding, and research skills, with the ability to communicate complex data in a clear and concise manner. The role requires a person who can work autonomously, take initiative, and possess good interpersonal communication skills compatible with frequent exchanges with our European team.
- Being a key member of the Singapore and Trends & Analysis team, focusing on analytical work related to transport energy, including oil, gas, biofuels, hydrogen, synthetic fuels, biogas, electricity, and other transport energy sources.
- Analyzing and dissecting data from various sources, including scientific studies, reports, and models, to develop a detailed understanding of environmental, economic, and societal perspectives.
- Developing briefings and inputting into advocacy and campaign materials based on robust data, evidence, and argumentation to reduce the climate impact of the transport sector.
- Advocating our position to policymakers, politicians, business leaders, civil society actors, and international networks.
- Converting large datasets or complex policy implications into clear, robust, and beautiful charts.
- Proven expertise (7+ years) in the energy system, alternative fuel production, and/or biofuel supply chains.
- Strong analytical skills, with an ability to quickly grasp technical issues, assess data, and possess knowledge of Excel or other modeling tools.
- Relevant professional experience working on technical issues in the environmental or energy sectors, or in a research institution, is highly recommended but exceptions will be made for very talented starters.
- Project management experience, including strong interpersonal and team-working skills, and an ability to deliver to tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to write in English fluently, accurately, and concisely. Asian languages are considered a bonus.
- The confidence to think and act with initiative, engage and influence policymakers of different stripes, industry representatives, and other stakeholders at the highest level.
