Job Title: Energy Policy Analyst Specialist

About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Energy Policy Analyst Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Singapore-based Trends & Analysis team, you will play a vital role in shaping new policies in the Asia-Pacific region.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as a key energy expert, analyzing and dissecting data on transport energy sources, including oil, gas, biofuels, hydrogen, synthetic fuels, biogas, electricity, and other transport energy sources.
  • Analyze complex policy issues from various sources, developing a detailed understanding of environmental, economic, and societal perspectives.
  • Develop briefings and input into advocacy and campaign materials based on robust data, evidence, and argumentation to reduce the climate impact of the transport sector.
  • Advocate our position to policymakers at national and regional and international levels (ICAO, IMO), politicians, business leaders, civil society actors, and our international network.
  • Convert large data sets or complex policy implications into clear, robust, and beautiful charts.

Requirements:
  • 7+ years of proven expertise in and knowledge of the energy system, alternative fuel production, and/or biofuel supply chains.
  • Strong analytical skills, ability to quickly grasp technical issues, assess data, and good knowledge of Excel or other modeling tools.
  • Relevant professional experience working on technical issues in the environmental or energy sectors, or in a research institution, is highly recommended but we'll make exceptions for very talented starters.
  • Project management experience including strong interpersonal and team-working skills and an ability to deliver to tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills and an ability to write in English fluently, accurately, and concisely. Other Asian languages are considered a bonus.
  • The confidence to think and act with initiative, to engage and influence policymakers of different stripes, industry representatives, and other stakeholders at the highest level.
