Financial Risk Supervisor
Singapore
The Financial Risk Supervisor in Singapore will play a pivotal role in identifying, assessing, and managing financial, insurance, and operational risks, including those related to information technology, in alignment with AXA Group's policies and methodologies. This position aims to foster a conducive environment that encourages business units to operate within established Risk Appetite limits while maintaining strong relationships with local regulatory bodies and management on risk-related matters.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Your core responsibilities will encompass:
· Ensuring comprehensive execution of risk governance in accordance with AXA Group guidelines and local regulatory standards.
· Coordinating the second line of defense to maintain a uniform approach across various risk assessments conducted within the Singapore branch.
· Identifying, quantifying, and managing local financial, insurance, and operational risks in line with AXA Group's policies, in collaboration with the Centres of Excellence (COEs) and the regional Risk Management leadership.
· Assisting with risk-related activities across the Asia region as required.
· Establishing and monitoring a Risk Appetite framework for all risk categories, ensuring alignment with local decision-making processes and regulatory requirements to mitigate potential losses.
· Supporting the head office by providing relevant risk reports to the risk monitoring committee.
· Cultivating a positive environment that promotes adherence to metrics and standards for risk-taking within defined Risk Appetite limits.
· Ensuring compliance with AXA Group's risk management policies and contributing to the development of the local Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework.
· Implementing effective risk management practices tailored to the Singapore branch's specific regulatory landscape.
· Defining risk alerts and limits for each risk category through macro-statements and functional indicators, to be reviewed quarterly within the Risk Appetite Framework.
· Providing independent assessments on AXA Group's significant decision-making processes, including new product launches and strategic initiatives.
· Conducting an annual review to identify key operational risks associated with current and future strategic activities, ensuring all operational losses are reported to the head office.
· Following up on action plans resulting from internal and external reviews.
· Coordinating the Own Risk and Solvency Assessment (ORSA) process locally and contributing to regulatory reports.
· Maintaining ongoing communication with business units, supported by an emerging risks management framework for early risk detection.
· Delivering risk training to key personnel and conducting awareness campaigns for all employees.
· Supporting the implementation of the Internal Control framework, reinforcing second line of defense controls to identify key controls across all areas.
· Building strong relationships with local regulatory authorities.
You will report to the Senior Risk Manager for the APAC region.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
We are seeking candidates with the following qualifications and skills:
· A bachelor's degree in risk management, statistics, actuarial science, economics, business administration, or a related field.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
· A minimum of 7 years of experience in the insurance sector or a related field is preferred.
· Strong networking and influencing capabilities.
· Strategic thinking abilities.
· Experience working within a complex regulatory framework.
· Excellent negotiation skills.
· Proficient in engaging with senior leaders across various organizational levels.
· Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, in English.
· Proven ability to deliver high-quality results under tight deadlines.
