Geriatric Physiotherapy Specialist

This role is an opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of elderly individuals by addressing their physical challenges and limitations.

  • Evaluate clinical history and conduct client assessments, including physical and impairment-based evaluations, to identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop personalized treatment plans and implement them in collaboration with participants and caregivers.
  • Provide appropriate physiotherapy interventions and education based on assessment, including:

Functional mobility training

Client-centered and goal-oriented care

Collaboration with interdisciplinary teams

Home therapy as required

Maintenance of accurate documentation of participant progress and outcomes

Continuing education and research participation, including delivering in-service training and quality improvement initiatives

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Registration with the Allied Health Professionals Council (Full Registration)
  • Experience working with geriatric patients preferred
  • Personal attributes: empathy, compassion, effective communication, adaptability, cultural sensitivity, and professionalism
  • Competencies: fall prevention, pain management, mobility and functional independence
