Job Title: Material Sourcing Specialist

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Material Sourcing Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in sourcing and procuring high-quality materials and supplies to support our business needs.

The Successful Candidate Will:

  • Evaluate and select suppliers based on quality, cost, reliability, and lead times.
  • Negotiate contracts and pricing to secure favorable terms.
  • Issue purchase orders and ensure their timely execution.
  • Maintain robust supplier relationships and manage supplier issues.
  • Analyze market trends for potential cost-saving opportunities.
  • Monitor inventory levels to guarantee the availability of key materials.
  • Collaborate with production planning to forecast requirements.
  • Manage inventory control procedures and address any discrepancies.
  • Ensure all materials meet company quality standards and specifications.
  • Liaise with the quality control team to resolve material issues.
  • Implement strategies for cost reduction and monitor purchasing expenses.
  • Manage purchasing budgets and generate reports on purchasing metrics.
  • Maintain communication with production, engineering, and quality control teams.
  • Keep detailed records of purchasing activities and contracts.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate should possess a minimum diploma in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field, coupled with at least 2 years of experience in purchasing, preferably within a metal fabrication or manufacturing environment.

A strong understanding of procurement processes, supply chain optimization, and contract negotiation is essential. Additionally, excellent communication and interpersonal skills are necessary to build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
