Job Description

The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and managing installation cost estimates for data centre white space fit-outs. This includes rack, cage, electrical distribution, and data cable infrastructure.

Key responsibilities include managing the installation cost estimates for colocation cage/cabinet/interconnection and large-scale enterprise/hyperscale suites builds. The successful candidate will work closely with sales engineering, sales, and portfolio management groups to understand customer or internal requirements and ensure costs are competitive and accurately reflect installation costs.

Additionally, the candidate will analyze vendor quotes, compare them with internal databases, maintain a database of unit costs for work across sub-set of countries/markets in APAC's portfolio, and identify cost reduction opportunities by working with design engineers and vendors.

Other key responsibilities include maintaining accurate records of unit costs, analyzing historical project data to inform future cost estimating decisions, and communicating effectively with various stakeholders, including sales teams, procurement professionals, and project managers.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A minimum of 7 years' experience in data centre construction and/or telecommunications/data centre industry
  • Expert level knowledge of white space fit-outs, including rack, cage, electrical distribution, and data cable infrastructure
  • Expert level knowledge in reading/interpreting construction plans, one-line drawings, and construction specifications
  • Expert level knowledge of Excel and some form of Cost Estimating Software
  • Familiarity with project cost accounting and local codes
  • Advanced analytical and quantitative skills
