Pre-Construction Cost Planner Role

We are seeking a skilled Pre-Construction Cost Planner to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing the cost plan from feasibility to early design stage and supporting preconstruction Managers in establishing an accurate budget for upcoming Data Center projects.

  • Develop and implement effective cost planning and estimating systems for the preconstruction stage.
  • Take ownership of construction cost data from various sources to support future budget development and benchmarking.
  • Review, validate, and standardize construction cost data by building types and attributes, ensuring it's ready for efficient budget development.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop unit prices and Amazon specific rate library based on take-offs, historical costs, and market data.
  • Research and analyze construction cost trends through published sources, local market conditions, and studies to forecast construction costs for medium- and long-term planning.
  • Support complex, cross-functional initiatives and programs by assessing cost impacts and collaborating with teams from Real Estate, Design Engineering, Due Diligence, Procurement, and external partners.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of construction costs in the industry, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. As a Pre-Construction Cost Planner, you will work closely with our global network of Construction professionals, including Construction Managers, Program Managers, Regional Managers, and Regional Project Engineers in operational teams, as well as Data Engineers. Our team owns and drives the process for program, cost, constructability, procurement, and delivery strategies, bid analysis through to contract award.
