The Asia Pacific Commercial Leader will spearhead commercial management functions across the region, focusing on cost control, contract management, and financial planning to ensure efficient project execution. This role is pivotal in overseeing project budgets, forecasting expenditures, and conducting rigorous financial analysis to support construction efforts within the APAC region.
Reporting to the Senior Director, Project Delivery, APAC, the Asia Pacific Commercial Leader will play a critical role in liaising between internal teams and external partners, optimizing procurement processes, and managing supplier relationships to support project delivery. This role requires strong collaboration with project managers, cost estimators, and other cross-functional teams to drive process improvements, support contract administration, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the quantification and strategic management of commercial risk across the APAC region to ensure successful project delivery.
- Oversee all commercial and contractual aspects related to the design, procurement, delivery, and operation of projects, ensuring adherence to the highest quality standards.
- Leverage extensive industry knowledge to innovate and refine cost control and commercial risk management processes.
- Demonstrate flexibility in adapting to the specific needs of each APAC region, navigating diverse agreements, local regulations, and contract types to optimize procurement and project delivery outcomes.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the business context in each APAC country to drive cost-effective procurement and risk management strategies aligned with objectives.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal teams, external consultants, legal advisors, and contractors.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, quantity surveying, finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in commercial management within the construction industry, with a strong background in managing cost control, contract administration, and financial planning across large-scale projects.
- Proven track record of leading and developing high-performing teams, with at least 5 years in a management role.
- In-depth knowledge of cost estimation, budgeting, and financial analysis, as well as strong negotiation skills for supplier and vendor contracts.
- Solid understanding of regional compliance and regulatory standards in the APAC construction market, ensuring that all commercial practices align with local laws and company policies.
