Job Title:

Pastor for Dialect Ministry

About the Role:

We are seeking a spiritually mature and mission-minded servant-leader who will cast vision, shepherd the congregation and oversee the holistic spiritual development of our members. The ideal candidate will have a few years of church ministry experience, preferably with a Hokkien speaking congregation.

  • The Pastor will be responsible for Lutheran Service of the Word and Sacrament including pulpit ministry, scheduling preachers, overseeing worship services, and preparing weekly worship slides.
  • The Pastor will also organize fellowship and outdoor physical events for members, as well as evangelical events and funerals and wakes.
  • In addition, the Pastor will train the Ministry Leadership Team, visit and counsel members, and oversee the overall administration of the Dialect Ministry.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A Diploma or Degree in theology or Biblical studies.
  • Good organizing skills, interpersonal, communication skills and ability to interact effectively with people at all levels.
  • A leader with team-building skills, embracing coaching and counselling knowledge.
  • Active member of a church.
  • Conversant in spoken and written Hokkien.
  • Ability to empathise with people's life experiences.
