Job Description

We are seeking a visionary leader to spearhead our research and development efforts, driving innovation in recycling technologies and advancing pilot concepts to commercial products.

The ideal candidate will set the direction and strategy for the research team, aligning with company objectives and milestones. They will collaborate closely with the CTO to manage and shape the company's technical vision.

The successful candidate will foster high-performing research teams through clear goal-setting, structured mentorship, and a culture of accountability and trust. They will track team progress, troubleshoot challenges and roadblocks, and provide scientific guidance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set the direction and strategy for the research team

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A PhD or MS in Electrochemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field
  • 5-15 years of hands-on R&D experience in battery technology, recycling processes, or industrial electrochemistry
  • Strong foundation in electrochemical principles, including thermodynamics, kinetics, mass transport, electrodeposition, and catalyst preparation techniques
  • Proven experience in scaling up lab-scale technologies to pilot or production-level systems
  • Strong track record of building, managing, and mentoring high-performing research teams
  • Excellent project management and communication skills
