Production Support Specialist Role

The role of a Production Support Specialist is critical in ensuring the smooth operation and availability of applications in production environments.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform root cause analysis on application defects to identify solutions for remediation.
  • Prioritize defects for production release based on defect criticality or quarterly releases.
  • Develop program code, support end-to-end testing in SIT, UAT, and deployment to Production environments.
  • Maintain production stability by ensuring deployments have completed necessary risk and impact assessments.
  • Communicate with stakeholders regarding application-related issues or queries.
  • Assist with level 2 support investigations and share knowledge with internal teams to improve quality and minimize future defects.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • At least 3 years of Production Support L3 experience across multiple technologies/platforms.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written, oral communication skills.

Technical Requirements:

  • Proficiency in AS400 platform & RPG/LE, CL/LE, COBOL400, SQL, and Query400.
  • Familiarity with incident and problem management processes, agile methodologies, and Core Banking modules.
