Job Summary

Overview

The successful candidate will serve as a technical RUN authority for all Unix/Linux services within Crédit Agricole CIB. This role involves providing Business As Usual (BAU) support and acting as the final escalation point for all production support tasks within the Unix/Linux team located in Singapore. The individual will be responsible for ensuring the overall health and stability of the technical solutions under their purview. Collaboration with technical peers, including architects and project teams, is essential for developing technology roadmaps and executing projects.

The Unix/Linux team is tasked with managing RUN activities and delivering projects for its infrastructure, which encompasses Redhat, Solaris, HP-UX, Veritas Geocluster, and MC/Service Guard in a diverse environment utilizing NFS, Centrify, NIS, and LDAP with HPE and Sun-Oracle hardware.

Detailed Responsibilities

As a technical expert, the individual will:

  • Assign technical tasks and oversee delegation for technical challenges,
  • Foster team collaboration and the sharing of best practices,
  • Support the development of technical skills and provide training as necessary,
  • Embrace new technologies to ensure consistent service delivery across various streams,
  • Manage service enhancements for all Unix/Linux services throughout the organization,
  • Document, review, maintain, and disseminate relevant technical information to the team,
  • Provide technical guidance and support services proactively and reactively to uphold system infrastructure availability and reliability in accordance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs),
  • Implement and refine improvements based on LEAN-CA-CIB best practices,
  • Focus on automation and optimal resource utilization to enhance efficiency,
  • Drive root cause analysis for any high-severity incidents,
  • Review technology changes to identify potential risks,
  • Oversee problem management and resolution.

As an Experienced Professional in Unix/Linux Services, the individual will:

  • Assist the team during troubleshooting when technical issues arise within their expertise,
  • Understand the global IT structure to anticipate interrelationships within the organization,
  • Collaborate with technical peers, service managers, architects, and project teams on technology roadmaps and initiatives,
  • Facilitate transformation projects and propose future improvements and changes, ensuring production readiness and compliance for new projects and solutions,
  • Be available to lead complex or high-severity incidents within their role,
  • Actively engage with emerging technologies and trends, assessing their potential integration into operations.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Assist in identifying highly skilled candidates for open positions,
  • Provide technical coaching and development for partner resources to enhance quality and productivity,
  • Define the technical skill set necessary to support CA-CIB technologies.

Client Interaction

The individual will manage daily client relationships, including planning, clarifying requests, mitigating risks, and ensuring service quality.

Legal and Regulatory Responsibilities

The candidate must comply with all applicable legal, regulatory, and internal compliance requirements, including the Singapore Compliance manual and policies, as well as financial security obligations, such as preventing financial crime and fraud.

Fluent in English, both written and spoken. The role will require working hours in rotating shifts primarily to cover European business hours, with on-call support expected on a rotational basis during weekdays and weekends.

Mandatory Track Record

Minimum 8-10 years of experience managing Unix/Linux environments, with at least 3-5 years in financial institutions. A Bachelor’s or Engineering degree is required. The candidate should be a subject matter expert in technologies such as Redhat 6/7/8, Solaris 10/11, HP-UX 11.31, Veritas Infoscale Cluster, and MC/Service Guard Cluster. In-depth hands-on knowledge and experience with NFS, NIS, LDAP, Centrify, Redhat Satellite, KVM Virtualization, LDOM/OVM, and HPE & Sun-Oracle hardware are essential. Proficiency in scripting and automation (Ansible, Python, Bash) is required, along with knowledge of emerging technologies such as Cloud IaaS, Hadoop Big Data, and basic network/security and storage/backup concepts. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and logical skills are necessary, as well as a customer service orientation and strong teamwork capabilities. The ability to work under pressure and a commitment to resolving issues are also critical.
