Job Summary

Overview

The successful candidate will serve as a technical RUN authority for all Unix/Linux services within Crédit Agricole CIB. This role involves providing Business As Usual (BAU) support and acting as the final escalation point for all production support activities within the Unix/Linux team in Singapore. The individual will be responsible for ensuring the overall health and stability of the technical solutions under their purview. Collaboration with technical peers, including architects and project teams, will be essential in developing technology roadmaps and managing projects.

The Unix/Linux team is tasked with operating RUN activities and delivering projects across its infrastructure scope, which includes Redhat, Solaris, HP-UX, Veritas Geocluster, and MC/Service Guard, all within a diverse environment utilizing NFS, Centrify, NIS, and LDAP on HPE and Sun-Oracle hardware.

Detailed Responsibilities

As a key expert in the team, the individual will:

  • Assign technical tasks and oversee delegation for technical challenges.
  • Foster team collaboration and encourage the sharing of best practices.
  • Support the development of technical skills and provide training as necessary.
  • Advocate for new technologies to ensure consistent service delivery across various streams.
  • Manage service enhancements for all Unix/Linux services across the organization.
  • Document, review, and disseminate relevant technical information to the team.
  • Provide technical guidance and support services proactively and reactively to maintain system infrastructure availability and reliability in line with Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Implement and develop improvements based on LEAN best practices.
  • Focus on automation and optimal team utilization to enhance efficiency.
  • Lead root cause analysis for any high-severity incidents.
  • Review technology changes to identify potential risks.
  • Manage problem resolution and incident management.

As an experienced professional in Unix/Linux Services, the candidate will:

  • Assist the team during technical issue diagnosis within their area of expertise.
  • Understand the global IT structure to anticipate interrelationships within the organization.
  • Collaborate with technical peers, service managers, architects, and project teams on technology roadmaps and initiatives.
  • Facilitate transformation projects and propose future improvements and changes.
  • Ensure production readiness and compliance for new projects and solutions.
  • Be available to manage complex or high-severity incidents within their role.
  • Stay informed about new technologies and trends, assessing their potential integration into operations.

Additional Responsibilities

The candidate will also:

  • Assist in identifying highly skilled candidates for open positions.
  • Provide technical coaching and development for partner resources to enhance quality and productivity.
  • Define the technical skill set necessary to support Crédit Agricole CIB technologies.

Client Interaction

As the primary escalation contact for clients, the individual will:

  • Manage daily client relationships, including planning, clarifying requests, mitigating risks, and ensuring service quality.

Fluent in English, both written and spoken. Working hours will involve rotating shifts primarily covering European business hours. On-call support will be expected on a rotational basis during weekdays and weekends.

Mandatory Track Record

Minimum 8-10 years of experience managing Unix/Linux environments, with at least 3-5 years in financial institutions. A Bachelor’s or Engineering degree is required. The candidate should be a subject matter expert in technologies such as Redhat 6/7/8, Solaris 10/11, HP-UX 11.31, Veritas Infoscale Cluster, and MC/Service Guard Cluster. In-depth hands-on knowledge and experience with NFS, NIS, LDAP, Centrify, Redhat Satellite, KVM Virtualization, LDOM/OVM, and HPE & Sun-Oracle hardware are essential. Proficiency in scripting and automation (Ansible, Python, Bash) is required. Familiarity with emerging technologies such as Cloud IaaS, Hadoop Big Data, Network/Security basics, Storage/Backup basics, and HyperV/ESX basics is advantageous. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and logical skills are necessary, along with a customer service orientation and strong teamwork capabilities. The ability to work under pressure and a commitment to resolving issues are crucial.
