About the Role:

As a Solutions Engineer at Confluent, you will play a pivotal role in the early stages of the sales process and contribute to the ongoing value realization for our clients. Collaborating closely with Account Executives, you will serve as the primary technical advisor, helping to uncover both explicit and implicit business requirements and devising technical solutions to meet these needs. You will facilitate discussions that inspire confidence in adopting innovative patterns and drive creative problem-solving to overcome technical challenges. Solutions Engineers are integral to the Customer Success Team, fostering an environment that promotes sustained success and incremental adoption of Confluent's technology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advance innovative data streaming use cases from conception to implementation.
  • Lead and execute technical proofs of concept.
  • Conduct discovery and brainstorming sessions to develop new use cases.
  • Provide thought leadership through technical presentations and workshops.
  • Assist customers with hands-on support and best practices to enhance their Confluent deployment.
  • Analyze customer usage trends and identify opportunities for optimization.
  • Collaborate with product and engineering teams, advocating for our products across customer, partner, and industry ecosystems.
  • Build strong relationships with key customer stakeholders, becoming a trusted partner.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in Solutions Engineering or a related field.
  • Proficient in event-driven architecture, data integration, and processing techniques, as well as database and data warehouse technologies.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud architecture, migrations, deployment, and application development.
  • Familiarity with automation, GitOps, and Kubernetes.
  • Proficient in programming languages such as Java, Python, or SQL.
  • Technical certifications in Cloud Development/Architecture, Data Engineering, and Integration.
  • Demonstrated self-starter mentality with a passion for learning and tackling complex technical challenges.
  • Exceptional presentation and communication skills, with the ability to engage a diverse audience from developers to C-level executives.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Understanding of solution selling methodologies.
  • A challenger mindset with the ability to positively influence opinions.
