IT Manager Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced IT manager to oversee the planning, implementation, and maintenance of our company's computer systems and networks. The successful candidate will have a strong background in IT support, networking, and systems administration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and troubleshoot hardware (PCs, printers, barcode scanners, etc.)
  • Support network infrastructure: LAN/WAN, switches, routers, Wi-Fi
  • Ensure servers and data storage are running smoothly (file servers, domain controllers)
  • Manage user accounts, email, Active Directory, file permissions
  • Monitor IT security (antivirus, firewalls, data protection policies)
  • Perform regular backups and ensure disaster recovery plans are in place
  • Provide technical support for MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems), ERP, or factory-specific systems
  • Troubleshoot machine-PC communication issues (e.g., PLCs, IoT devices)
  • Ensure system uptime to minimize production downtime
  • Install, configure, and maintain standard and custom software
  • Provide training or guidance to staff on using systems or software
  • Implement and enforce IT policies, data protection, and access control
  • Act as the first point of contact for IT-related issues
  • Prepare incident reports, maintenance logs, and update manuals

Requirements:

  • Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • 1–3 years of experience in IT support, networking, or systems administration
  • Experience in a manufacturing or factory environment is a plus
  • Knowledge of Windows OS (client & server), network support, PC setup and troubleshooting, basic server administration, IT security, and familiarity with ERP/MES systems, printers, scanners, and barcode systems
  • Good problem-solving and analytical thinking, strong communication skills, and ability to work independently and in a team
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new systems or factory technologies
