The Role of a Conference Manager

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and organized professional to oversee the planning, execution, and management of conferences. As a Conference Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating all event logistics, including venue selection, catering, and audio-visual equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with vendors to determine costs and ensure timely delivery of services;
  • Develop and monitor timelines and budgets to ensure successful conference execution;
  • Oversee processes to ensure vendor deliverables are met, including site work and coordination with graphic designers and webmasters;
  • Coordinate audio and visual needs, ensuring all equipment and supplies are in place and functioning properly;
  • Develop procedures for registering and checking in participants.
Requirements:
  • Degree or diploma in Event Management is preferred;
  • Proven ability to work under tight deadlines and within budget;
  • Time-sensitive and goal-oriented individual with a thirst for information;
  • Innovative thinker with a good understanding of business principles;
  • Excellent spoken and written English skills;
  • Good comprehension of conference and association matters;
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant working experience is preferred, although entry-level candidates with good personal attributes may also apply.
