Job Title: Specialised Teacher
Developing the Next Generation of Students with Hearing Loss
We are seeking a dedicated professional to join our team as a Specialised Teacher. The ideal candidate will be passionate about developing the next generation of students with hearing loss via the medium of Singapore Sign Language in a mainstream school setting.
The successful applicant will have the opportunity to co-create lesson plans and co-teach with a mainstream teacher, promoting Deaf awareness and providing accessibility support.
This role involves developing and implementing specialised intervention programmes to support academic behaviour and social emotional development.
Additionally, the successful applicant will be responsible for developing and implementing assessment methods that accommodate the communication modes and abilities of the HL students.
They will also attend and participate in SADeaf events and meetings.
Key Responsibilities:- Co-create lesson plans with mainstream teacher
- Co-teach with mainstream teacher
- Promote Deaf awareness and provide accessibility support
- Develop and implement specialised intervention programmes to support academic behaviour and social emotional development
- Develop and implement assessment methods that accommodate the communication modes and abilities of the HL students
- Attend and participate in SADeaf events and meetings
- Have achieved SgSL Course Level 3 or at least SEE2 Advanced Stage
- Have a degree in any field, preferably with additional diploma in special education
- Relevant qualifications and experience in teaching (preferred)
- Preferably with experience in interacting with the Deaf community
Full-time contract, with potential for renewal.
