  • Ensuring the timely and efficient execution of tasks and projects in accordance with departmental schedules and deadlines.
  • Leading and managing a team of workers to achieve project goals and objectives.
  • Providing technical guidance and support to team members, including painting specification details and coating system requirements.
  • Conducting pre-job meetings to ensure a clear understanding of project requirements and objectives.
  • Preparing and submitting daily reports to the Department Head/Engineer, highlighting progress, challenges, and recommendations for improvement.
  • Coordinating with inspectors to ensure daily inspections are conducted and quality issues are addressed promptly.
  • Obtaining paint material requests from subcontractors, verifying their authenticity, and forwarding them to MMC for approval.
  • Monitoring paint consumption and reporting any overconsumption to the Engineer/HOD.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of departmental activities and progress.
  • Ensuring compliance with safety policies, company rules, and regulations, and taking necessary actions to prevent accidents and incidents.
  • Coordinating with the team to ensure a safe working environment and adhering to all relevant regulations and standards.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Diploma in Engineering.
  • A minimum of 12 years of experience in Marine Shipyard operations, with a strong background in coatings and painting.
  • NACE Level II Coating Inspector certification.
  • Knowledge of blasting and painting operations, as well as technical drawing and paint specification interpretation.
  • Detailed understanding of contractual, commercial, safety, technical, and quality aspects, and their application in a marine shipyard environment.

The successful candidate will be able to work under pressure, respond to changes in short notice, and demonstrate strong leadership, technical, and interpersonal skills.
