As a KYC Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth onboarding of clients in Private Banking and Consumer Banking Groups. Your primary responsibility will be to provide expert advice to Front Office personnel on all customer due diligence (CDD) matters, collaborating closely with them throughout the client onboarding process.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree and at least 8-12 years of experience in KYC/AML areas, risk or controls functions, preferably in Private Banking. Familiarity with regulatory requirements, such as MAS 626, is also essential. Certification in AML, such as CAMS, would be advantageous.

Key responsibilities include advising Front Office on onboarding requirements, reviewing and corroborating customer source of wealth information, following up with stakeholders on CDD-related matters, assessing and ensuring the relevance and completeness of CDD information, highlighting deficiencies or suspicious activities, preparing reports for management, training Front Office personnel, coaching junior team members, and staying abreast of global AML/CFT developments.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree with at least 8-12 years of working experience in KYC/AML areas, risk or controls functions, preferably in Private Banking
  • Familiar with regulatory requirements pertaining to KYC/AML in a Private Banking setting, e.g., MAS 626, customer SOW due diligence etc
  • Certifications in AML such as Certified Anti Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) or International Association Diploma in Anti Money Laundering would be an advantage
  • Ability to be client-centric while balancing business needs and controls
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to manage relationships with Front Office stakeholders
  • An efficient solutions provider with strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills
