Job Overview
Purpose of the Role:
Define the strategic direction for Credit Administration (CAD) in the APAC region in collaboration with CAD International and Head Office. Create comprehensive CAD roadmaps aimed at enhancing efficiency, ensuring continuity, and promoting sustainability of CAD operations across APAC nations. These roadmaps should encompass initiatives focused on process optimization, cost reduction, and risk management. Lead the APAC CAD teams in executing the Credit Administration responsibilities under the guidance of CAD-International and Head Office. Supervise and manage the APAC CAD teams effectively: Ensure the accurate preparation, verification, and updating of documentation related to credit facilities prior to system entries. Validate the authenticity of security documents executed by clients. Process and authorize credit limits and the lodgment of credit documentation into the Bank's systems as necessary. Generate, validate, and distribute documentation reports; assist management in mitigating various risks within the Branch, adhering to the Group framework, approved appetite, and regulatory standards. Serve as the primary contact for managing stakeholder relationships across various business, product, and support sectors to facilitate issue resolution and provide value-added advisory on CAD processes, aiming for exceptional customer service. Cultivate a talent pool for CAD within the APAC region.Key Responsibilities:
Security and Documentation Management
Aid in the preparation and review of both standard and non-standard documentation, security-related documents, and other condition precedent documents in line with sanctioned credit approvals. Ensure all security and support documents are properly executed and authorized. Collaborate with Product Specialists, Coverage, Credit, and Group Legal as necessary to finalize the documentation process before encoding facility limits in the System. Confirm that approval from relevant authorities is obtained for any deferrals or waivers of incomplete documents. Address and rectify any existing discrepancies or deficiencies in documentation. Maintain and update security documents and collaterals in the Bank's systems. Regularly verify that all required security and support documents are securely held during the renewal of credit facilities. Ensure the safe-keeping and archiving of credit documentation, including periodic clean-up of outdated facility/security documents upon settlement. Review and verify approvals for the release of collaterals and security documentation, ensuring no outstanding liabilities exist. Monitor and circulate reports on documentation deficiencies and follow up for timely submissions or renewals.Credit Oversight
Upon receipt of an approved credit application, update customer data and encode credit limits in the Bank's systems. Activate credit limits in the Bank's systems once credit documentation is complete. Ensure limits are correctly established and activated in accordance with approved product types, terms, conditions, and any special instructions. Periodically maintain and review credit limits, especially during annual reviews. Coordinate with stakeholders and collaborate closely with Head Office on limit allocations.Management Information Systems (MIS) and Reporting
Ensure the integration of accurate and timely internal and regulatory reporting. Prepare and disseminate reports related to collateral, documentation deficiencies, and other pertinent information. Work with IT on system enhancements as needed. Fulfill any additional reporting requests from CAD-HO and management.Regional and Administrative Responsibilities
Provide guidance, training, and interpretation of credit policies and procedures to team members and new hires. Review and ensure the smooth operation of daily business activities for APAC CAD teams. Support various CAD functions, including documentation and credit limit maintenance. Facilitate guidance and support to CAD-International as required. Lead, coordinate, and liaise with APAC CAD teams on all matters related to CAD functions. Ensure alignment of APAC CAD teams with CAD Head Office practices and adherence to credit policies and procedures. Meet agreed service level agreements with stakeholders. Engage actively with Auditors, Compliance, and Risk groups to manage CAD-related matters. Supervise team members to ensure smooth business operations and adherence to departmental workflows and processes. Accountable for the effective implementation of risk control self-assessments and compliance with Standard Operating Procedures and Credit Policies. Conduct monthly communication forums and quarterly video conferences with Country CAD teams and CAD International Head Office. Collaborate with CAD-International to implement best local practices in CAD. Liaise closely with local HR Business partners regarding staff performance and feedback. Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders across various business lines and support functions. Ensure effective management of staff leaves to maintain adequate resources for business continuity.Qualifications:
A degree with a minimum of 15 years of experience in banking. Proven leadership experience of at least 7 years. Essential experience in Credit Administration, with Credit Risk experience as an added advantage. High standards of integrity and business ethics. Excellent communication skills and a strong team player. Proficient in English, both written and verbal; knowledge of Mandarin is a plus. Strong interpersonal skills for effective engagement with both external and internal stakeholders. Innovative, with strategic thinking and analytical capabilities. Ability to develop and implement control measures to mitigate risks and enhance operational efficiencies. Good understanding of the legal environment and LMA Documentation; regional exposure is an advantage.-
