Lead Laboratory Supervisor

The Laboratory Lead is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the laboratory, ensuring compliance with established standards. This role coordinates the activities of a team of laboratory assistants who conduct testing and inspections on raw materials, goods in process, and finished products.

Prioritization and task assignment ensure efficient use of team resources, meeting work schedules and targets. The Laboratory Lead works closely with the Quality Manager to classify final products and reworked lots. Troubleshooting and investigating quality issues, implementing improvements from analysis gap studies are key responsibilities.

The role involves monitoring in-process samples, liaising with production teams for preventive and corrective actions. Preparing activity and progression reports helps identify recurring problems with product quality or testing procedures.

Maintaining staff performance, equipment efficiency, and laboratory processes ensures quality control system effectiveness. Additionally, the Laboratory Lead prepares quality reports and updates, trains lab assistants and shift technicians, supervises and coaches team members, and supports QC department functions as needed.

This position requires a strong understanding of laboratory equipment, such as GC, AAS, Auto-titrator, and NIR. Experience in manual testing and leadership skills are essential.
