Procurement Strategist Role

The Procurement Strategist plays a pivotal part in securing goods and services that meet the organization's needs for cost-effectiveness, quality standards, and timeliness. This involves drafting contract documents that detail contractors' responsibilities and liabilities while safeguarding the company's interests. The incumbent works closely with user departments to prepare tender documents that ensure clear and detailed specifications fitting business needs.

Main Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies to drive value, availability, and technology.
  • Analyze market trends and supplier landscape to inform strategic decisions.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to senior management on procurement matters.
  • Uncover business-building ideas and cost-saving opportunities through market analysis.
  • Design sourcing strategies that improve the value, availability, and technology of procured goods and services.
  • Negotiate deals through competitive bidding or direct negotiation.
  • Build effective working relationships with suppliers to ensure seamless collaboration.
  • Participate as a critical member of cross-functional teams to deliver projects.
Key Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in any discipline.
  • Experience in sourcing and procurement within the semiconductor industry.
  • Proven track record in strategic sourcing, tendering process, contract management, contract negotiation, and contract governance.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, effective influencing skills, and skilled in contract negotiations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to navigate complex procurement scenarios.
  • Able to establish good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Resourceful, driven, and able to drive innovation, champion change, and work collaboratively to achieve results.
  • Experienced with procurement software/platforms (e.g., SAP, ERP).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
