Key Roles and Responsibilities

The Technical Operations Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of assigned bulk carrier vessels.

  • Oversee technical management and maintenance of assigned bulk carriers, guaranteeing adherence to international, flag state, and class requirements (ISM, ISPS, IMO, SOLAS, MARPOL).
  • Plan, coordinate, and supervise routine and ad-hoc repairs, as well as periodic dry dockings, to optimize vessel availability and performance.
  • Prepare and manage vessel operating expenditure budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness and financial discipline.
  • Conduct regular vessel inspections, generate reports, and ensure timely implementation of corrective actions.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to vessel crews, promoting safety culture and operational excellence.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related maritime discipline.
  • Minimum 3-5 years' experience as Technical Superintendent managing bulk carriers; Chief Engineer sea-going experience preferred.
  • Possession of a valid Certificate of Competency (COC) as Chief Engineer (Class 1) or equivalent is advantageous.
  • Sound understanding of international and Singapore maritime regulations, class, and flag requirements for bulk vessels.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
