">Vessel management and maintenance is a complex process that requires careful planning, coordination, and supervision. As a Technical Superintendent, you will oversee the technical management and maintenance of assigned bulk carrier vessels to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and coordinate routine and ad-hoc repairs, as well as periodic dry dockings, to optimize vessel availability and performance.
- Monitor and enforce compliance with international, flag state, and class requirements (ISM, ISPS, IMO, SOLAS, MARPOL).
- Prepare and manage vessel operating expenditure budgets to ensure cost-effectiveness and financial discipline.
- Conduct regular vessel inspections, generate reports, and implement corrective actions in a timely manner.
- Provide technical support and guidance to vessel crews to promote safety culture and operational excellence.
- Liaise with shipyards, suppliers, and contractors for the procurement of spares and services, ensuring high standards of quality and timely delivery.
Requirements:
- Diploma in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related maritime discipline.
- Minimum 3-5 years' experience as Technical Superintendent managing bulk carriers, with Chief Engineer sea-going experience preferred.
- Possession of a valid Certificate of Competency (COC) as Chief Engineer (Class 1) or equivalent.
- Sound understanding of international and Singapore maritime regulations, class, and flag requirements for bulk vessels.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
