Job Title: Technical Superintendent

As a Technical Superintendent, you will oversee the technical management and maintenance of bulk carrier vessels. Your role involves ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee routine and ad-hoc repairs, as well as periodic dry dockings, to optimize vessel availability and performance.
  • Monitor and enforce compliance with international, flag state, and class requirements (ISM, ISPS, IMO, SOLAS, MARPOL).
  • Prepare and manage vessel operating expenditure budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness and financial discipline.
  • Conduct regular vessel inspections, generate reports, and ensure timely implementation of corrective actions.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to vessel crews, promoting safety culture and operational excellence.
  • Liaise with shipyards, suppliers, and contractors for the procurement of spares and services.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you must possess the following qualifications:

  • Diploma in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related maritime discipline.
  • Minimum 3-5 years' experience as Technical Superintendent managing bulk carriers; Chief Engineer sea-going experience preferred.
  • Possession of a valid Certificate of Competency (COC) as Chief Engineer (Class 1) or equivalent is advantageous.
  • Sound understanding of international and Singapore maritime regulations, class, and flag requirements for bulk vessels.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
