Job Description

Senior Marine Superintendent Role

As a Senior Marine Superintendent, you will be responsible for overseeing the safe and efficient operation of vessels. Your role will involve implementing and maintaining compliance with international regulations and managing daily operations.

You will work closely with Masters, Chief Engineers, and ship staff to ensure all navigation operations are carried out safely and efficiently. This includes managing cargo and tank cleaning operations, port operations, anchoring and mooring operations, and providing critical information on passage and war risks.

Additionally, you will conduct incident, accident, and crisis management investigations, and assist in coordinating emergency drills and inspections.

Your expertise in bulk carrier operations, cargo handling, and global trade routes will be essential in ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and implementing safety management systems.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Implementing and maintaining a safe and compliant operation standard
  • Managing daily vessel operations
  • Advising on navigation operations
  • Conducting incident and accident investigations
  • Coordinating emergency drills and inspections
  • Ensuring compliance with environmental regulations

Requirements and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A valid Master Mariner (Class 1) or Chief Engineer CoC
  • 2-5 years of shore-based experience as a Marine Superintendent or similar role
  • In-depth knowledge of bulk carrier operations, cargo handling, and global trade routes
  • Expertise in ISM, ISPS, MLC, and environmental regulations
  • Experience ensuring compliance with environmental regulations
