About the Role

GIC, one of the world's largest sovereign wealth funds, is seeking a highly skilled Portfolio Manager to join its Economics and Investment Strategy Department. As a leading global long-term investor, we work at the point of impact for Singapore's financial future and the communities we invest in worldwide.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop actionable investment recommendations across global investment markets
  • Design investment strategies that capture the core qualities of thematic investment opportunities
  • Provide leadership in the management of top-of-the-house portfolio allocations
  • Work with team members to conduct scenario analysis and advise on optimal asset allocation
  • Conduct macro-oriented market research, building and maintaining risk and return models, and monitoring markets and macro themes
Requirements
  • 7-10 years' investment experience analyzing equity markets, preferably in a cross-asset role
  • Experience managing portfolio mandates, conducting macro market research, and generating investment ideas across asset classes
  • Direct experience in testing market and economic variables, and building top-down market models
  • Strong analytical abilities, proficient with MS office products, market data services Bloomberg, Datastream, etc.). R/python experience a plus
  • A solid understanding of fundamental investment concepts and return drivers, sound economic and market judgment, and an ability to anticipate key issues that will impact the portfolio
  • Able to formulate independent views and investment recommendations
  • A good degree in Economics/Finance/Mathematics etc, with a keen interest in economics and financial markets research
  • Able to link the dots, with strong written and spoken communication skills
  • Good interpersonal skills. Able to work collaboratively and foster internal debate
