Technical Support Specialist

Our organization is seeking a skilled Technical Support Specialist to provide advanced technical support, troubleshooting, and maintenance of audiovisual systems across various client sites. This role involves working hands-on with AV hardware, resolving complex technical issues that escalate beyond Level 1 support, and assisting with AV system installations and upgrades.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide Level 2 onsite and remote technical support for AV systems (video conferencing, audio systems, projectors, digital signage, control systems, etc.).
  • Respond to escalated incidents from Level 1 support, resolving issues related to hardware, software, and network integration.
  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance of AV equipment.
  • Troubleshoot AV issues during live events or meetings and ensure minimal downtime.
  • Install, configure, and test AV equipment such as microphones, speakers, displays, video walls, and control systems (e.g., Crestron, AMX, Extron).
  • Support the integration of AV with IT systems (e.g., Teams Rooms, Zoom Rooms, SIP/H.323 conferencing).
  • Collaborate with project managers and engineers during system installations and upgrades.
  • Document all support activities, resolutions, and configurations in the ticketing system.
  • Provide training and guidance to end users and junior technicians as needed.
  • Maintain inventory of AV equipment and tools; coordinate RMA or warranty repairs when necessary.
Requirements:
  • 1+ years of experience in AV field support or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of AV or related systems, signal flow, and troubleshooting methods.
  • Hands-on experience with AV control systems (Crestron, AMX, Extron) or related technologies.
  • Proficiency with video conferencing platforms (Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Cisco WebEx) or related technologies.
  • Familiarity with networking fundamentals (IP addressing, VLANs, PoE).
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in the field.
  • Willingness to travel to various clients' sites.
