Job Title:
School Counsellor Role

About the Role:
The School Counsellor is a vital member of our Student Development Team, responsible for providing expert guidance and support to students. This role encompasses counselling services, programme development, and collaboration with staff and parents to promote students' well-being.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Counselling Services
  • Provide direct intervention for students in need, including those from the High School Section and College Section.
  • Collaborate with other counsellors to design and implement a comprehensive system of support.
  • Coordinate with the Case Management Team for timely interventions.
  • Make home visits when necessary.
2. Staff Support
  • Offer consultations to staff on managing students with academic, behavioural, and emotional issues.
  • Develop and source training for staff to enhance their skills.
  • Work with relevant teams to establish prevention strategies.
3. Parent Engagement
  • Consult with parents on managing students with various challenges.
  • Conduct workshops to align expectations and strengthen parenting skills.
4. School Duties
  • Participate in school emergencies as part of the CARE team.
  • Collaborate with the Student Development Team on programme design and implementation.
5. Curriculum Development
  • Work with the Student Development Team on curriculum design.
  • Implement programmes promoting social and emotional growth.
6. Additional Responsibilities

Assist with other duties assigned by senior officers.


Requirements:
  • Masters or Doctoral degree in Counselling, Counselling Psychology, or Clinical Psychology.
  • Registered Counsellor or Clinical Supervisor with SAC or Registered Psychologist with SPS.
  • Minimum one year of professional experience in case management, critical incident management, and proficient in counselling approaches.
  • Experience working with young adults, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team and conduct professional development training is advantageous.
  • Strong organisational and multitasking skills.
