Climate and Weather Research Program Officer

The National Environment Agency has a key role in strengthening Singapore's resilience to climate change and extreme weather events.

  • Job Description: Facilitate the achievement of climate and weather research program outcomes. Work with public research performers to manage projects, including project plans, funding initiative reports, progress reports, audit reports, and budgeting.
  • Conduct Regular Engagement: Engage stakeholders to communicate research requirements and facilitate the translation of scientific research to inform policymaking decisions.
  • Horizon Scanning: Perform horizon scans on the latest weather and climate science research areas and assist in the formulation of RIE2030 research strategy and strategic initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Academic Degree: Relevant scientific field (e.g. physics, geography, environmental studies)
  • Grants Management: Familiarity with grants management, including budgeting, planning, execution, delivery, quality assurance, and reporting
  • Interest and Skills: Interest in weather and climate science research, good team player, ability to work with various stakeholders
  • Miscellaneous: Ability to multitask, meticulous with details, and work independently
