Climate & Weather Research Programme Manager

About the Role

The Climate & Weather Research Programme Office is a critical component of Singapore's efforts to strengthen its resilience to climate change and extreme weather events. As part of this team, you will be working on various projects that aim to drive local research and innovation in weather and climate science.

Ongoing research initiatives include the National Sea Level Programme and the Climate Impact Science Research Programme. Key areas of focus include climate change impacts on sea level rise, water resources, and flood management, as well as human health and energy.

Your Responsibilities
  • You will facilitate the achievement of programme outcomes through effective collaboration with public research performers.
  • Manage project administration, including project plans, schedules, funding reports, progress reports, audit reports, and budgeting.
  • Engage stakeholders to communicate research requirements and facilitate the translation of scientific research into policy decisions.
  • Perform horizon scans on the latest weather and climate science research areas and assist in formulating strategic initiatives to address knowledge gaps.
What We Are Looking For

We are seeking an individual with a strong academic background in a relevant scientific field, such as physics, geography, or environmental studies. The ideal candidate will have experience in grants management, including budgeting, planning, execution, delivery, quality assurance, and reporting.

A passion for weather and climate science research is essential, along with excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with various stakeholders. Strong organisational and time management skills are also required, as well as the ability to multitask and work independently.
