Job Description

The Climate and Weather Research Programme Office plays a vital role in enhancing Singapore's resilience to climate change and extreme weather events.

Ongoing research programmes include the National Sea Level Programme and the Climate Impact Science Research Programme. Key priority areas include climate change impacts on sea level rise, water resources, and flood management, biodiversity, and food security; human health and energy; and translation of climate science to policy.

A new Weather Science Research Programme was launched to enhance Singapore's ability to understand and predict our tropical urban weather, including extreme weather arising from climate change.

  • Facilitate achievement of programme outcomes.
  • Work with public research performers to manage administration of projects, including project plans, funding initiative reports, progress reports, audit reports, budgeting, and finance reports.
  • Conduct regular engagement of stakeholders to communicate research requirements and facilitate translation of scientific research; and inform policymaking decisions.
  • Perform horizon scans on latest weather and climate science research areas and assist in formulation of research strategy and strategic initiatives to address knowledge gaps in the research landscape.
Required Skills and Qualifications

The job requires an academic degree in a relevant scientific field, familiarity in grants management, interest in the field of weather and climate science research, good team player skills, and ability to multi-task and work independently.
