Climate Transformation Researcher

The Climate Transformation Programme aims to develop, inspire and accelerate knowledge-based solutions and educate future leaders to establish a stable climate and environment necessary for resilient, just, and sustainable societies.

Climatic change is an environmental event with significant psychological impacts becoming more salient. Climatic change events constitute a new source of stressors that individuals have to cope with, both psychologically and practically in their daily lives.

The purpose of this project is to broaden understanding about the psychological effects of climatic change and how climatic action could contribute to coping and resilience in individuals.

Different research methodologies will be utilized including focus group discussions, longitudinal surveys, and intervention trials.

Findings from this project will support translational efforts to promote climatic action and psychological health.

The researcher will engage in extensive scholarly writing (literature reviews, project reports, manuscripts, conference presentations etc.).

They will conduct a range of statistical analyses, including SEM and longitudinal analyses.

The researcher will independently propose and execute research agenda based on the project.

They will organize consultations with overseas collaborators and recruit their involvement at different phases of the project.

The researcher will implement a range of projects, including large-scale surveys, intervention trials, and qualitative studies.

They will manage project administrations and logistics, including data management and adherence of IRB procedures.

The researcher will disseminate research findings through presentations and interactions with students, researchers, and higher education authorities.

They will engage in training relevant to the project.

The researcher will supervise research project team members.

Key Competency and Qualifications Requirements:

  • A PhD degree from a reputable university in the areas of Clinical, Counseling, School, or Educational Psychology, Public Health, Social Work, or related disciplines.
  • At least 3-5 years of relevant research experience, including scholarly writing, data analyses, and support grant application.
  • Advanced statistical skills in multivariate analyses for intervention and longitudinal dataset.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills.
  • Experience in supervision of students.
