Job Title

A key role within the Climate & Weather Research Programme Office, focused on strengthening resilience to climate change and extreme weather events in Singapore.

The office drives local research and innovation in weather and climate science through various projects. Ongoing initiatives include the National Sea Level Programme and the Climate Impact Science Research Programme, examining climate change impacts on sea level rise, water resources, and flood management, as well as human health and energy.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with public research performers to achieve programme outcomes.
  • Manage project administration, including planning, scheduling, funding reports, progress reports, audit reports, and budgeting.
  • Communicate research requirements and facilitate policy decision-making among stakeholders.
  • Conduct horizon scans on latest weather and climate science research areas and assist in formulating strategic initiatives to address knowledge gaps.

Requirements

We are seeking a candidate with a strong academic background in physics, geography, or environmental studies. Ideal candidates have experience in grants management, including budgeting, planning, execution, delivery, quality assurance, and reporting. A passion for weather and climate science research is essential, along with excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with various stakeholders. Strong organisational and time management skills are required, as well as the ability to multitask and work independently.
