Optical Transceiver Thermal Performance Engineer

Job Overview
The Mechanical Design Lead is responsible for leveraging simulation tools to analyze the thermal performance of optical transceivers. This involves ensuring that they meet design specifications and operational requirements.
To achieve this, the successful candidate will conduct thermal simulations, validate results with testing, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize thermal performance.
Main Responsibilities:
- Thermal Modeling: Perform advanced thermal modeling using software tools (e.g., Solidworks, ANSYS, COMSOL) to analyze heat transfer, temperature distribution, and thermal stresses within optical transceivers.
- Validation and Verification: Develop and execute thermal validation tests to verify simulation accuracy and assess thermal performance under different operating conditions.
- Collaboration and Optimization: Work closely with design and manufacturing teams to integrate thermal considerations into the design process, identify and implement thermal management solutions, and optimize the thermal performance of optical transceivers.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience with thermal simulation software (e.g., Solidworks, ANSYS, COMSOL)
- Strong understanding of heat transfer principles, fluid mechanics, and thermal modeling techniques
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including design, manufacturing, and test engineers
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
